GLOBAL EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY

Our Mission

Our mission is helping schools to create authentic learning opportunities and meaningful relationships for all students — both inside and outside the classroom—that help them to become thriving and contributing members of their community. GEC’s Global, Innovative, Strategic, Transformative (GIST) School develop students who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive and fully participate locally and globally.

To ensure every child and young person has the best start in life, a safe, healthy, and inspiring place to learn and the skills and global mindset for the future, the education system needs to be transformed, not reformed.

Working alongside schools, we provide a holistic solution for the future of learning where schools prepare students for an increasingly complex and interconnected world and who are ready to solve real-world problems creatively, collaboratively, and equitably. Our solution includes learner-centered, project-based learning pedagogy and performance assessment in an inclusive, equitable, and collaborative culture.

We develop confident learners who thrive in constantly changing world and contribute to their communities and beyond.

A world of increased global interconnectedness, technological advances, and the rapid rate of change requires students to have different skills. Education is no longer about just “knowing”. The GEC model is grounded in deep learning around authentic, interdisciplinary project-based learning using real-world issues to support the development of milestone projects, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Global. Innovative. Strategic. Transformative.

(GIST) Schools enable students to direct their own learning pathway and develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive and make a lasting difference. These real-world, learning opportunities can take many forms, including children working with and learning from other children, children learning from nature, children and teachers learning together, and children learning through their communities.
